What is PC?

Definition:--

PC (Personal Computer):- It is a single user computer system having moderately powerful microprocessor.

A personal computer (PC) is a multi-purpose computer whose size, capabilities, and price make it feasible for individual use. Personal computers are intended to be operated directly by an end user, rather than by a computer expert or technician. Unlike large costly minicomputer and mainframes, time-sharing by many people at the same time is not used with personal computers.

Workstation/Node:- It is also a single user computer system, similar to personal computer however has a more powerful microprocessor.

PCs usually consist the following parts:
  • Computer case
  • Power supply
  • Motherboard
  • Random access memory (RAM)
  • Hard disk(s)
  • CD/DVD drives/writers
  • Various external devices, such as a visual display, keyboard, printer 
  • Web Cam
